VOX goes Virtual

On July 1st, VOX released it's first "virtual" choir, with a performance of Refugee by Moira Smiley. A piece that would have anchored our March concert, Journey to Refuge: Finding Home, and was composed by Smiley after she volunteered at the Calais Jungle refugee camp in 2016, the current state of political unrest, economic instability, and discomfort in facing the unknown makes it's message of empathy and understanding more important than ever before. As Smiley says, "Refugee is about feeling bereft and misunderstood, and inviting empathy. We are all much closer to being refugees than we want to imagine."
