We’re pleased to announce that VOX has launched the brand new Youth Outreach Program with an inaugural workshop at Ramona Convent Secondary School in Alhambra! VOX's Assistant Conductor Desiree Fowler and seven VOX singers did an amazing job engaging the students in the general school population with an interactive lecture-demonstration, featuring "O Fortuna" from VOX's upcoming Carmina Burana concert. Later, Desiree worked with Ramona Choir Director Ruth Ballenger's Chamber Singers on Mendelssohn's "Laudate Pueri," another piece of VOX repertoire. (Students at all of our participating schools will be able to hear these pieces sung by the full choir at our March 19th concert.) At the end of the class, the Chamber Singers taught the Voxxies a snippet of their repertoire, set to a timely Mark Twain quote about lying...
