VOX Goes International!

Updated: Feb 25

On the morning of Wednesday, May 2nd, 2018, the women of VOX Femina made their way from Los Angeles to beautiful Vancouver, BC, for the Tapestry International Festival of Women's Choirs. VOX was joined by singers from three other women's choirs: host Elektra Women's Choir from Vancouver, Gardabaer Women's Choir from Iceland, and Frisches Ei from Japan. Over the next four days, the women worked together to present two exquisite concerts, singing both as individual choirs and raising their voices as a whole, and in the native language of each participating choir.

"It was an international community-building experience!" singer Evi Desser said. "The opportunity to sit intermingled with the women from these other choirs, and to work with each conductor, as well as learning music in Icelandic and Japanese - it was life changing."
