Concert Cancellation Statement from Executive Director Rebecca Wink

It is with a heavy heart that VOX Femina has made the decision to cancel it's performance of Journey to Refuge: Finding Home at Zipper Concert Hall on Saturday, March 14th, and its Community Concert in Culver City on Sunday, March 15th.

Our host venue, the Colburn School, made the difficult decision yesterday that, for the health and safety of their students, they are closing their campus and cancelling all public performances. The same is true for the City of Culver City, which has cancelled all city-sponsored events for the next few weeks, including VOX's concert at Culver City Presbyterian Church. Up until yesterday, we hoped to relocate our Saturday concert to another venue, but after Govenor Newsom's call to cancel gatherings of 250 or more, as well as other developments that have unfolded in the past 24 hours, we feel that cancelling the concerts is the responsible thing to do.

We are heartbroken. Our singers have poured their hearts into hours of rehearsals to tell these beautiful and important stories through the most breath-taking music, and we are devastated that we can't share that with you this weekend. But we are determined to find another time and place to present this concert, if not during this season, then perhaps in the next.

We will of course honor refunds from anyone who requests them, but we hope you might consider turning your ticket purchase into a donation, and we will gladly provide you with a tax receipt. This cancellation represents a significant loss to our organization, as the bulk of our expenses for the concert have already been settled. Please feel free to reach out to VOX directly with any questions at (310) 922-0025 or vfla@voxfemina.org
